Observation Tasks 5 & 6

Different learning styles and differentiation – General observations  
   

What do you notice? Who are the students who answer the questions? Who are the students who are quiet? Who are the students who are not focused? I notice from the classroom, the students who always answer the question are:  Sultan, Saeed Ali, and Mohammed Adel. Also, mane & khilfa Amad are quiet students in the class. Finally, Abdullah Saif & Saif Mohammed they can’t focus in the classroom.



Are there learners who finish activities quickly?  What do they do when they have finished? Sultan Bader / he finish writing the math paper and all her answer correct.



Are there learners who do not finish a task(s)?  How does the teacher deal with them? Abaulla Saif, she explains for her the lesson again.



Are there any learners with special needs?  What kind of special needs do you think they have? How does the teacher deal with them? Yes, there is one boy. He has emotional behavior problem. He can’t understand what the teacher says. The teacher gets him a quiet place and gives the student a pencil to draw or a toy to play.



How does the teacher manage learners with different levels/abilities? She gives each group different activities to do in the classroom. I think these activities in their ability.

Brief description: Obaid is one of the good boys. He has a good behavior. He can’t stop talking in the classroom. So, he fined the activities so hard. Teacher explains the activities two times for her.

Obaid  sit in the carpet and see the video. He listens, laugh and discuss events of the video with his friends.

 How many different activities did the learner do?He did four different activities.

How did s/he interact with the other learners throughout the day?He is good and quiet. He listens to the teacher and don’t fight with the other boys. He always smiles. 

What was the longest period of time the learner spent focusing on one activity?He listens one hour for the teacher.


What did the learner do during the break times? They sit and eat. Also, he talks with her friends about the cars all the time.


What did the learner’s attention span / interest during activities seem like? He likes to play by the games. Also, he likes to watch video.


What did the learner seem to like doing the most / least during the day? He sitting and try to finish his work.

Repeat the same task as last week with a different learner.


High Ability

Brief description: Sultan is excellent boys in the classroom. He has a good behavior. He always likes to discuss the lesson with the teacher. He respects all the people. He is really kindly boys. He always helps the teacher.

What was the longest period of time the learner spent focusing on one activity?
He listens all the time for the teacher. But, sometime he thinks about other thing.

What did the learner do during the break times?
They sit and eat. Also, he cleans her table when he finish.

What did the learner’s attention span / interest during activities seem like?
 He likes to count the number, and to watch video.  

What did the learner seem to like doing the most / least during the day?
He sitting and try to finish his work.
