letter p- reflection

Select (S): 
KLLK1: explore letters through play. 
KLLK2:  produce letter names
Children will learn new letter which is (P) and they will review the letter that they take it before which is (S, A, T).

Describe (D): 
Who is the lesson for?
I did this lesson for kg1. In Al Rayaheen kindergarten. 
 Where did the lesson take place?
I did it in the classroom. First they sit in the carpet and then they went to their center, I have up and sown center. After that they come back to the carpet. 
 What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
I want to let the students memories the letter P. So, I bring some staff starting with letter P.  
 What did the students do?
In the carpet they sit and say good morning song. Then I review the letters (S, A, T). After that the children they learn the new letter and they repeat after me the letter P. They play an engagement games, they learn divide the staff that in a basket on the all four letter (S, A, T, P).  They sing song of sound, then they went to their centers. They play in their center and have fun while they play. Then they come back to the carpet and explain what they did. 

Analyze (A): 
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did? 
Because they learn before from MST a little same way I did in my lesson.  So, it is easy to let them to respond the way I teach them.
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding? 
When I review the lesson the answer the question I ask them. Also, they interesting to learn the new letter. And then I did different activity that help them to understand the new letters. So, I think they understand the lesson.
How well did you engage the students?
I put for them engage activity, which is the basket with different materials. Then, I let them take out the staff from the basket and match the first sound with the letters in the floor.

Appraise (A): 
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
I think the students learn the letter P, and they are very interesting. I like the way I did my activity, I did a lot of activity to keep the students interesting and to memories the letter P.  
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
I think Yes, by the end of the class the children memories the new letter and they enjoy in the classroom. 





Transform (T): 
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
Maybe for the transition from the center to the carpet it is hard to let them sit there, So I think I will put clean up song and let them do it like a game. For example, put three things in correct place and then sit in the carpet quickly. The winner will be the students who is in the carpet and they will have a sticker.    
What are the implications for your professional practice?
I learn the way I teach and how can I improve myself while I teach the students. Also, I find some points that I still need improve in them for example the transition.
